Greeting witches!
Happy (belated) New Year! I hope 2023 brings you lots of love and happiness! I'm just writing to say that everything is starting back up here at AHP HQ! I've started my final pass of the book and chapters will start heading off to Monte next month. The dice have been ordered with the factory in China, which is now doing better and I'm confident we will get them in time. All other physical components are on hold, because we're ordering them in the NL and I don't want them just sitting around for ages. So, we're working on everything and with our delivery deadline months away are still very much on time with things :).
Next update will be some time in May and more significant!

End of Year Update

Greetings Witches,
I hope everyone is having a great holiday season! As promised, here is an update on where we are with the project and various components.
As a reminder, after this update: AHP is taking a break until the start of March at which point we will pick up the Kickstarter updates again and things will start moving. Thank you for your patience!
The Book
The manuscript for the book is written and has gone through at least one dev pass by Steffie or myself. We both check each other's work and provide feedback on it and about 75% of the book has gone through that secondary pass. We've finished consulting with our Japanese and West African cultural consultants and will do the final stage of consulting for the Jinni Fate when we start back up in March! All the art is complete and I have a template for the book's layout done. So when we start the general order of business will be:
Put the completed chapters in copy editing with Monte
Finish the Jinni consulting
Put everything in layout
Do proofing pass
Send the book to get printed
The Components
There are various components for the game that we either unlocked or were originally in the pledge tiers and here is an update on each of them:
Devil's Deck - Done, we had these decks over from Witch 1e so they're just waiting to be sent :)
Devil's Zine - The basic layout template and mechanics for this are done. We'll start the text when we are back in March.
Quick references - On hold until the book text is finalised.
Dice bag - Design is done, we'll order these when we order the book so they aren't just sitting at AHP HQ for months. We're printing these in the Netherlands so there are no worries on production issues or massive delays.
Dice - This was the one component we wanted to outsource to China, and still do. However, give the horrible covid situation there at the moment, we haven't sent the final designs to the supplier in China. Our plan is to contact them in March in hopes that the situation there is more stable and we can still produce with them. Otherwise, our plan is to print the dice with Chessex in the US. It means AHP makes less money on the dice, but the situation is more stable there and we won't let you all down. When we know more about this, you will too :).
Spirit Board - Design is done and the metal pendants are already in-house. As with the dice bags, the boards are being produced in the Netherlands, we're ordering them at the same time as the book so things aren't just sitting around.
Grimoire - Design is done and same ordering story as the dice bag and the Spirit Board.
The Distant Way & Guest Author Stretch Goals - We'll start this in March and keep everyone updated.
Pledge Manager & Shipping
We aren't collecting addresses or shipping fees until most of the components are ordered. There's no point taking shipping money that will just be sitting in our bank account and not yours, plus people move so we'd like to minimise the chance we need to change an address. When we do open the pledge manager we will explain the process via an update here. We will also open our pre-order store for anyone who missed the campaign.
As promised in our last update we wanted to take some time to introduce you to our last unlocked Stretch Goal author properly. We are proud to introduce...
Alison Cybe (they / she), is a complete and total disaster goblin who somehow got into writing roleplaying games where credits include fiction for Green Ronin, Onyx Path and Paizo, author of many adventures for games including Star Trek Adventures, Call of Cthulhu, Vampire the Masquerade, Starfinder and more, and is perhaps best known as the co-creator of Abyss and Shield Maidens. Despite being the baby of the project and having only stepped into writing professionally for the gaming industry since 2019, they've also penned several novels, including the recent fantasy comedy Realms of Valeron by Dreamsphere Books, with contributions to other works including Phantasmagoria magazine, Soteira Press, HellBound Books, and the multi-award winning NoSleep Podcast, and “Black Rainbow” – a horror anthology with LGBTQIA themes written by LGBTQIA authors and allies.
Possessing a degree in Film & Media with a minor in sociology, media and queer theory, they currently live in England (which for a Scottish lass of Irish descent is quite an... interesting experience!) They've written extensively on inclusion and positive representation within the gaming community in particular with relation to LGBTQ+ and transgender visibility in several gaming publications and blogs. They also write articles, editorials and reviews whenever anyone doesn't stop them from doing so. Their interests include celtic mythology and irish folklore studies, building gundam kits, being mistaken for the main character from that 90s cartoon Daria, pet rats, and pretending to know what she's doing. Maybe someday she'll be as cool as Satyr, but it's not likely.

The campaign is over, we're nearly 300% overfunded, and we unlocked 8 Stretch Goals! So from the bottom of our hearts, the team over here at AHP HQ just wants to say THANK YOU! This project was a real work of love for everyone on the team and it is amazing to know it is going to become a reality. Witch is where our company got its start and we're so happy to revisit and revise it. We couldn't have done this without you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Next Steps
First, we're going to put our feet up and relax for a bit. Once the money clears from Kickstarter, we'll post another update giving everyone a timeline and view of where the various parts of the project are. As a head's up we plan on taking an extended holiday break over here at AHP HQ. I think we can all agree 2022... was a year. And right now our current plans are to get various components into production for this project and take a break until the start of March, when we'll come back and finish up the project.
One Last Stretch Goal
Just before the end of the campaign we managed to unlock one last stretch goal by Alison Cybe! We want to give Alison the spotlight they deserve, so we'll be posting a full profile on them in our next update.

Cover not final
All scenarios written by our guest authors, some additional content we couldn't fit into the core book, and art are all going to go into this amazing A5 booklet. The booklet is available as an add-on and will be added to the Coven Pact and True Hamster Tier, giving both tiers over a 50euro discount! A PDF of the booklet will also be released to all backers of the PDF tier and higher.

The creator of A Cozy Den (about lesbisnakes in winter time) and Something Is Wrong Here (an uncanny emotional love letter to David Lynch's work), Kira also has a Patreon that elaborates on game design process.
